The Surface Moisture layer uses infrared and visible spectrum satellite data to identify moist bare soil and very shallow water. Derived from the Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI), this layer is best used in areas with bare ground or minimal vegetation to understand saturated ground, water bodies, and streams. This layer is derived from Airbus SPOT, which captures high-resolution multispectral satellite imagery worldwide at 6m resolution. Imagery available can be ordered on a per-property basis in Lens and costs scale by acres. Availability and timing of capture varies based on your geography and other factors.
