Vegetation

Resolution: 30m

The Harmonized Landsat and Sentinel-2 (HLS) Version 2.0 dataset is created with data from NASA/USGS's Landsat 8 and Landsat 9 along with ESA's Sentinel-2A, Sentinel-2B, and Sentinel-2C. Data from all of these satellites are gridded to the same resolution of 30m to create a harmonized data product with captures every 2-3 days. The HLS project is a collaboration between NASA, USGS, and ESA.
Vegetation vigor is a measure of photosynthetic activity and is derived from the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) using visible and near-infrared reflectance. Lower values indicate no vegetation present in white or yellow and high values indicate areas with vigorous vegetation in dark green.
