This dataset represents section boundaries of the Public Land Survey System, also known as first divisions. Sections are approximately 1 mile square subdivisions of townships, each containing about 640 acres. This is a lighter-weight alternative to the full PLSS All Boundaries overlay, optimized for viewing section-level boundaries without township or second-division detail.
